Yankees lineup 2/25 w/ Notes

Here is the lineup for today’s game at PHI and below are some notes

Torreyes 2B-Torreyes is a young small ballplayer who got some some playing time, appearing in 72 games last year but only 168 ABs. He is a quick defensively minded player and hopefully can show us something today. He’s rated pretty well defensively but isn’t going to be a starter, more like defensive replacement.

Romine C-Romine has the backup catcher spot and he hold on to it thoughout the spring.

Bird 1B-Another start at first for Bird, guess the labrum feels good

Carter DH-First start for Carter as Holliday gets the day off

Judge RF-Hit a monster Homerun yesterday which you can see here

Frazier LF-Getting his first start Frazier is part of the future, here is his triple, he should’ve probably been thrown out at third after a Philly defensive mistake. He has insane bat speed and should see a call up towards the end of the season.

Andujar 3B- A 21 year old youngster from the Dominican but hasn’t been heralded as a top prospect

Torres SS-The key to the Chapman trade Torres is part of the future of the team. He is a shortstop by trade but will probably get some looks at 2nd base and CF either this spring or in the Minors. If Didi keeps playing well it may force Torres to change positions, or Didi to change positions. Either way something to look at this spring

Fowler CF- a 22 year old OF played in AA last year hitting .281 in 541 AB with only 12 HR and a .458 SLG. He has an uphill climb to make the Major league roster though he is the #9 ranked Yankee prospect. A possible future replacement for Jacoby Ellsbury or a trade chip in the next few years.
